ABOUT US
The "Welt Wald Klima World Forest Foundation des Senats der Wirtschaft e.V." implements global reforestation in line with the highest ecological and social standards.
Sustainable climate protection and functioning, eco-social market economies are factors that will secure our prosperity and our standard of living worldwide. That's why it's important to get involved now and invest in global climate protection. Companies must recognise their potential to help reinforce this protection:
This initiative allows every individual to do their part:
• The initiative contributes towards solving climate problems in the long term and securing general prosperity with specific reforestation projects according to the principle "close to nature, forest, restoration".
• This allows companies, organisations and private individuals to act as international role models.
• It is an investment in an economically profitable as well as ecologically sustainable project that provides jobs worldwide.
• This forest management allows companies to trade both sustainably and in a climate-neutral manner and have this certified.
• Corporate responsibility is achieved and attracts customers and consumers.
The World Forest Foundation is an initiative of the Senat der Wirtschaft. You can find out more about the Senat der Wirtschaft hier.
GENERAL PRINCIPLES AND GLOBAL REFORESTATION PROGRAM
Orientation towards the Common Good
The World Forest Foundation is an initiative of the Senat der Wirtschaft. The Senat der Wirtschaft e.V. is an organization of enterprises which argues for a global eco-social market economy, a global Marshall Plan and sustainable development in general. For this purpose, the senate offers political advice oriented towards the common good. The senate has started a World Forest Foundation against the background of tackling current challenges in the climate sector. The senate and the World Forest Foundation work towards the common good and do not pursue any economic interests whatsoever with its project for global forest and landscape restoration.
Global Climate Contract
An analysis of the Research Institute for Applied Knowledge Processing (FAW/n) in the German town of Ulm on a potential global climate contract as well as on the 2°C target, as pursued by global politics as a consequence of the global climate conferences in Copenhagen and Cancún in 2010, serves as a starting point for the reforestation initiative by the senate. The analysis reports a still existing possibility to reach the 2oC-target, however, only with extreme effort. The results of Copenhagen and Cancún include an interesting new formula for compromise between the north and the south (see annex "Basic Concept for a Climate Contract in the Aftermath of the Copenhagen/Cancún Climate Conferences"). However, they call for an appropriate division of efforts between the political and the private sector (use of climate neutrality as an option and use of a global reforestation and landscape restoration program on 1.5 million km2 by 2020 and on 5 million km2 until 2050 as a "wild card" to win time).
